Dallas Maids is a proud partner of Cleaning For A Reason
Cleaning for a reason is dedicated to helping women with cancer ease their recovery by providing maid services. Maid services – like Dallas Maids – work with Cleaning For A Reason Foundation to donate free cleanings.
Having the chance to further serve the welfare of the community though Cleaning for a Reason is a natural fit for us, especially with Dallas Maids’ mission of maximizing the well-being of customers and employees. We graciously thank Cleaning For A Reason for giving us the privilege to give back to our community which we have been blessed to serve.
Cleaning for a Reason was the brainchild of President and Founder, Debbie Sardone, owner of Buckets & Bows Maid Service, Lewisville, TX. Debbie took a phone call from a prospective client several years ago. After providing the woman a price quote, the prospect paused before saying, “I won’t be able to afford that now; I’m undergoing cancer treatment” and hung up. Debbie hadn’t gotten the woman’s phone number and was unable to call back to make arrangements. In that instant, Debbie decided that no woman undergoing cancer treatment would ever be turned down by her business. In fact, they would be given free housecleaning service.
Calling her staff, Debbie announced the new policy, which the company has used over and over, through the years. In 2005, Debbie shared her story with other maid services at a national cleaning industry convention. She shared her conviction that it was these women, undergoing the physical, emotional; and financial rigors of cancer treatment, who needed professional housecleaning services the most. An onslaught of cleaning business owners began expressing their interest and support.
When she returned to Texas, Debbie registered Cleaning For A Reason as a 501(c) 3 non-profit corporation. With word of this at the next convention, maid services began signing up to donate their services on the spot. Since that time, in 2006, Cleaning For A Reason has helped women with cancer receive the gift of over $3.7 million dollars worth of free house cleaning from approximately 1,000 maid service partners.

Covid-19 pandemic of 2020

Free House Cleanings for Dallas area First Responders during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dallas Maids is providing free house cleanings to Dallas area first responders during the coronoavirus pandemic.
My name is Greg Shepard, owner of Dallas Maids. We have been in business for 16 years and for 16 years have been adding happiness to Dallas families’ lives by removing the tedious chore of cleaning. Now, Dallas families are adding to our happiness.
To say this pandemic has been hard on small businesses is an understatement. At first, we had a few cancellations trickle in. Our cleaning staff expressed surprise that their checks were not affected as much as they had expected. Then Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins issued an order for all non-essential businesses to closed down Monday at 11:59 pm, March 23rd. Residential cleaning services were deemed essential businesses. We could stay open for business. Initially I was optimistic.
Yet times are uncertain and the media sounds scary. People are fearful of the coronavirus, fearful of the looming recession and possible depression. The trickle of cancellations transformed into an avalanche. Faced with what seemed the imminent demise of a cleaning company I had loved and labored so hard to build over the years, something wonderful happened…
Our customers came to the rescue!
Some cancelled service yet volunteered to keep paying so our professional cleaning staff had income and Dallas Maids could continue to operate. Others offered generous tip to help staff weather this pandemic storm. All of us at Dallas Maids are overwhelmed with the love flowing in.
I’m so grateful the Dallas Maids family feels this support during times like these. We need it. It gives us hope. I cannot thank our amazing customers enough for their help. You’ve shown the worst of times brings out the best in people! I want to pay this generosity forward by providing our local area first responders with free home cleanings.
Free housecleaning for first responders
Overcome with our client’s kindness, we are now paying it forward. Using the funds of customers still paying after cancelling along with donations, Dallas Maids create the First Responder Fatigue Relief Fund to provide free house cleanings to first responders.

Let’s Do Someting Amazing Today!
Eighteen years after the senseless act that stunned the world, we would like to honor the men and women who have lost their lives protecting Dallas and Fort Worth Families by making a positive difference in their families’ lives by raising money for The Russ Martin Show Listeners Foundation.
The Listeners Foundation was founded in 2002 and immediately started providing financial aid to families of Dallas police and firefighters killed in the line of duty. Says Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle,
“I get emotionally moved by what Russ does. Gets me misty-eyed just talking about it.”
When Gang Unit Corporal Norm Smith was shot while serving a warrant, Martin wrote Smith’s widow, Regina, a $30,000 check. And in 2005, Martin’s charity kept Officer Jackson’s widow from losing her home. Ms. Jackson said,
“The city benefits come too slow. Without Russ I wouldn’t have been able to pay our mortgage.”
Dallas Maids wanted to do something amazing by donating a portion of the proceeds from all the Deep Cleanings and Move In/Out Cleanings ordered within a 48 hours to make a difference in the families who lost their loved ones in the line of duty.

Preston North Lions Club Annual Passport to Wonder Show
Dallas Maids is proud to sponsor Preston North Lions Club Annual Passport to Wonder Show. The Lions Club is a non-profit organization which receives no financial support from the federal or local government or any other organizations. They rely on local support through annual drives such as this.
The funds raised from this event supported the Lions Club Dallas I.S.D. Eyeglass Program, a program that provides eye exams and eyeglasses for school children who cannot afford them. The funds were also used to sponsor children who are physically disabled or recently diagnosed insulin dependent to the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, TX.
